How to make gradient .ugr files from an image?

I've been wanting to make my own gradients from images but I can't for the life of me figure it out. Is there a tutorial I simply keep missing in my search?

It does not create .ugr files, but the format is compatible. You can open them with UF after renaming them

Try again. Part 1.

ApoMap makes gradient files (.map type) from images. The original seems to be not available online, but you can get it from
https://www.jwfsanctuary.club/downloads/gradients/apomap-gradient-editor-and-creator/

It makes gradients with 400 points, but they can be blurred a bit.

Part 2.

I downloaded the zip file and extracted the files. The executable file that installs the program is the same as my copy dating from 2017, so it should be safe.

I just wanted to say thanks to both Phillip and physicist, I finally got around to following the tutorial by Velvet Gloves and downloaded Apomap; I made over 40 gradients last night with plans to do more. Slightly addicted, lmao. I think once I got a good amount I'll make a gradient pack or two and post them to Gumroad for free for others to use. =)
